Mental

Refereeing is all about their ability to handle themselves and others within the environment.  A referee needs to be able to cope with the external interferences that can get in the way of a good performance!

A referee needs to be able to "clear the clutter" and focus on what matters, and remain true to him or her and the outcomes one is trying to achieve.  Ultimately, their ability to empathise and deliver to the game and the players will determine their success on and off the field!

PROFILE – REFEREE COACH: ROD HILL   (0 Comments)

Referee Coaches work with referees so they can be the best they can be. A referee needs to be able to "clear the clutter" and focus on what matters, and remain true to him or her and the outcomes one is trying to achieve. A Referee Coach can assist the referee to get clarity across all the pillars. This includes guidance on the principles of rugby, technical and tactical aspects of the game, working on individual core skills, communication and empathy skills, reviewing of performance and assisting the referee to put in strategies to ensure they are being the best they can be both within rugby and in their personal lives.
